Make sure you pack a torch, sunscreen and a hat and if you have reef shoes you will find they will become part of your daily dress as you explore the spectacular island. For the more adventurous, try trekking up to Mt Gower, a challenging but rewarding eight-hour hike.

You will find a mild climate, year round on Lord Howe Island. In summertime the temperatures reach 25ºc, in wintertime it only drops to 19ºc. Walking is the regular mode of transport as everything is close. For a little more speed, you can hire a bicycle and helmet. You will be met at the airport by your local hosts and they will also assist with your departure arrangements.
